![]() ![]() Since I dealt with 4 different techs at various times and a definitive reason why this happened wasn't concluded, one tech mentioned something that stood out the most to me. I also spoke to them about getting the tuner unmarried if I wanted to retune or sell the unit, they were happy to do either. All in all I figure $400 salvaged ECM, $368 Nissan Flash/Tow, $200 rental, and roughly 20+ hours of time spent resolving. The ECM was also purchased/mailed by them. It covered 1hr of labor and the tow, so I came $120.00 out of pocket for the remaining hour, as well as my entire rental car bill. I ended up getting my expense check for the tune/tow rather quickly. but like you said I am glad BullyDog did something rather than nothing to remedy the situation. It definitely was a hassle, stressful, and expensive. Not to mention the laziness and neglect from some of them - oil changes not being done, tires not being rotated, vehicles being beat to ****, etc. I've had a few friends that worked at that very same Nissan, as well as Infiniti next door, and the horror stories I would hear instill very little confidence in these dealership techs fresh out of school. They asked who did the work since they've never seen it there in the shop and I told them I do the work myself and don't trust them. When I had my truck towed there, a handful of techs waiting around came over and shot the breeze about my setup. This has been a very long, expensive week, and I have little fight left in me to scrap for the hour of labor with Nissan between all that's happened and the amount of financials I have to audit for work.Ĭourtesy Nissan in Tampa is notorious (like most dealerships) for **** service and gouged pricing. I never got word if BD is covering the additional hour of labor, but I'm glad they're covering something. This risk was not new to me ask I have prior experience my prior vehicles using AEM, Cobb, and OpenSource tunes, but I really did not expect this switching a simple MAP. Over all I'm glad they are covering the ECM, and while I do enjoy their product coupled with great tech support last night, I wanted to make anyone interested in something that alters your factory ECM aware of the "possible" consequences. Not to mention I only had a Leatherman on me to use for working on the truck. Unfortunately I had to pay for towing, a rental car to get to work, missed prior arrangements, and dealt with the 5+ hour headache. The tech on the phone instructed me to email them a photo of my "Show Settings" screen, VIN#, vehicles details/features, and they would over night a new ECM to my house on their dime. At first it was suspected to be a lower than optimal voltage issue (hence the 3 different batteries, charger, and jumpers) and while I wish it was, Bullydog concluded it to be the ECM. I've switched the MAP numerous times without fail and have been running their tuner without issue until this moment.Īt first I didn't think was a big issue, called Bullydog, and 5 hours, 3 batteries, chargers, jumpers, multiple downloaded tech updates later, and the unit was still getting hung up - Bullydog concluded my ECM was shot due to their Plug and Play tuner. Yesterday I was in the process of switching my Regular tune to Performance tune on my 2010 Frontier PRO4X, and the Bullydog hung up 3/4 through installing the MAP.
